Border Crossings
Domains of activity: arts and culture, education.
Formally established as a Company limited by guarantee, Registered charity in London, UK in 1995.
Mission: In response to the contemporary globalised world, Border Crossings creates a theatrical and cultural space in which peoples come together as equals for creativity and dialogue.
Collaboration with organisations in other countries: We have collaborated with organisations in France, Hungary, Greece, Sweden and Italy. We have also conducted projects outside the EU area, including a major EU-funded production with partners in China and India, and collaborations with the National Theatre of Ghana and other African and Asian organisations. Border Crossings also runs London's biennial Origins: Festival of First Nations.
Interest/involvement in European and EU political matters: Our work is about the redefinition of identities in the contemporary age, and the European Union is clearly a key part of that process. We are particularly interested in the relationship between European cultures and world cultures, with the changing demographics of today.
