Arts Council of Northern Ireland

Domains of activity: arts and culture.

Formally established as a Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB) in Northern Ireland in 1995. Predominantly active at the Regional level. 

Mission: To place the arts at the heart of our social, economic and creative life.

Membership in other European networks: The European Chapter of the International Federation of Arts Councils and Cultural Agencies.

Collaboration with organisations in other European countries: We have strong links with the Republic of Ireland and the other UK regions – England, Scotland and Wales. We have been participating for a number of years in the Venice Biennale, the British School at Rome and with cultural institutions in Malta. We are in the process of forging links with the various UK country bureaux in Brussels. 

Interest/involvement in European and EU political matters: We are interested in questions of citizenship, democracy and countries emerging from conflict.
