How it works
Participation - Membership
In its first two years, simple participation was key to the then "Rainbow Platform". In October 2008, it established legally as the "Platform for Intercultural Europe", and in May 2009 it became possible for organisations to join as members. The Platform has a strongly participative character and will remain open to any interested body or individual with a stake in the issue.
The Organisations

Beyond that, a large number of organisations have signed the Rainbow Paper as a commitment to our vision. See list of endorsements.
The Initiators
The Platform is hosted by Culture Action Europe, (previously EFAH), who co-initiated the Platform with the European Cultural Foundation.
The Steering Group
Steering Group members (from left to right): Eli Borchgrevink, Sabine Frank (Secretary General), Tarafa Baghajati, Chris Torch, Guillermo Ruiz, Mercedes Esteban and Isabelle Schwarz. Missing from this photo: Guido Orlandini and Niels Righolt.
The Steering Group of the Platform for Intercultural Europe is elected by the General Assembly of Members. Candidates are fielded by member organisations and elected in a personal capacity for a representative mandate of three years.
Each Steering Group member works in one or two of the sub-groups:
- Advocacy and Institutional Relations
- Rainbow Paper implementation activities
- Membership development and communications
- Finances, fundraising and administrative support.
